British Drinks Cabinet | Carved Wood Liquor Cabinet with Glass Display Top | EKAR FURNITURE
The Mayfair Compass British Drinks Cabinet brings the refined atmosphere of a classic English club into your home, combining storage, display, and conversation-piece style in one vertical masterpiece. The cabinet is built from richly toned deep red-brown hardwood, with hand-carved gilded ornament tracing the corners, crown, and door fronts. The upper section is enclosed by an arched glass door with delicate mullioned lattice, revealing the interior shelves where your finest bottles and glassware can be shown off to their best advantage. Below, a smooth-working drawer offers a discreet home for bar tools, corkscrews, and napkins, while the lower door is the cabinet's crowning feature—adorned with intricate gold scrollwork around a compass-inspired medallion at its center.
Every part of the Mayfair cabinet reflects traditional cabinetmaking at its best. The frame is constructed from solid, kiln-dried hardwood, joined and reinforced to stay square and stable for decades. The arched glass door is fitted with a metal handle and opens on sturdy hardware, while the interior glass shelves are adjustable, letting you arrange bottles of different heights with ease. The carved gilded details—on the crown, along the edges, and around the compass medallion—are sculpted and finished by hand, with the gold applied in layers so the ornament reads clearly and catches the light from across the room. The deep wood finish is sealed to resist dust, spills, and the occasional enthusiastic toast.
This drinks cabinet is designed for the rooms where hospitality happens. In a living room, it stands as a handsome statement piece beside a sofa, offering guests an inviting place to mix an evening drink. In a dining room, it doubles as a serving station for wine and liqueurs during dinner parties. In a study or library, it adds gentlemanly character while keeping a private selection of spirits close at hand. It is also a favorite in hospitality settings—hotel lounges, private members' clubs, country house guesthouses, and boutique bars—where it brings instant warmth and old-world atmosphere. The glass display top makes it easy to feature a collection of decanters and crystal, turning practical storage into part of the room's decor.
